Questions students and parents ask
What is the NEET 2026 cut-off for the general category?
General and EWS candidates needed the 50th percentile, which in NEET (UG) 2026 meant a score between 715 and 213 marks out of 720.
What is the NEET 2026 cut-off for OBC, SC and ST?
OBC, SC and ST candidates needed the 40th percentile, which in NEET (UG) 2026 meant a score between 212 and 177 marks.
Does qualifying NEET guarantee an MBBS seat?
No. Qualifying only makes you eligible for counselling. A government MBBS seat needs a rank inside that year's closing ranks, which are far higher than the qualifying cut-off. In Kerala, CEE publishes the last ranks of each allotment.
How many candidates qualified NEET 2026?
11,21,185 candidates qualified out of 19,99,895 who appeared (22,79,743 registered), according to NTA.
How many students from Kerala qualified NEET 2026?
51,782 candidates from Kerala qualified out of 84,664 who appeared (1,13,786 registered). In NEET 2025, 73,328 qualified out of 1,21,516 who appeared.
What will the NEET 2027 cut-off be?
Nobody knows yet. The cut-off is set by percentile (50th for General and EWS, 40th for OBC, SC and ST), so the marks change with each year's paper and scores. NTA publishes them with the result.
Why was the NEET 2026 cut-off higher than in 2025?
The cut-off is a percentile, not a fixed mark. In 2026 (the re-examination held on 21 June) the marks at the 50th and 40th percentiles were 213 and 177, against 144 and 113 in 2025, which means scores were higher overall that year.
